British Council Building, Tower Hill, 14th November 2023: The Chairman for National Assets and Government’s Property Commission together with his team on the 14th November 2023 inspected the entire edifice of the British Council Building, the Headquarters for the Petroleum Regulatory Agency ( PRA).
Mr. David Panda Noah while inspecting the building said he is very much pleased with the facelift of the structure especially areas that fall within the purview of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency. He commended the Executive Chairman of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency as well as his team for painstakingly taking proper care of the government’s property; adding that one of the key responsibilities of any MDA is to ensure that the government’s properties are being taken care of accordingly and without unnecessary damage to it.
The Executive Chairman of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) Mr. Brima Baluwa Koroma noted that he assumed the leadership of PRA at the British Council Building at a time when the available office spaces were very limited and as such the agency needed swift reforms to make it very conducive and accessible for both staff members and clients. He told the National Assets’ Chairman and his inspecting team that some of his staff are currently managing certain offices while others offices are joined together with demarcation.
He appealed to the Chairman and his team that based on the current staff strength, he is kindly appealing for government candid intervention so that the entire building would be formally handed over to PRA for onward usage.
Mr. Koroma further informed the inspecting team that they are poised to improve on the entire building to make it more attractive especially the auditorium which can be used for multiple purposes for generating revenue for the Government of Sierra Leone.
The Deputy Executive Chairman for PRA, Mr. Alfred M Kobba commended Executive Chairman for his exceptional leadership at the agency and also for the efficient handling of the British Council Building in the last five years. He told the inspecting team that they would work collectively in order to ensure that PRA continues to deliver its core mandates to the general public.
Mr. Noah however assured the PRA Boss together with his team that their demands for the entire British Council Building would be given utmost consideration due to the impressive work being done under the auspices of the current leadership.
